Steph formed Active Training & Development in 1999 after discovering that there was a lack of great training providers based in the West Midlands. Since then, he has devised, directed or run programmes throughout the UK and Europe for hundreds of companies in every industry.
He is a certified provider of the Thomas International DISC psychometric and is studying Year 3 of a Masters in Outdoor Education at Worcester University. His passions are running Effective Management programmes and discovering new ways to deal with real-time interpersonal issues at work.
Steph strives to maintain a balance of challenge, humour and pragmatism in his courses and loves the sense of achievement when programmes result in real positive change at work. He is married and recently moved to the Welsh coast to find more time to play. He is currently learning the concertina.

Jock has been a part of Active Training since 2003, and brings a creative combination of influences to his coaching, training & facilitation. He has over 20 years of background in managing and training, from practical experience of project management as a civil engineer to designing & delivering bespoke learning & development programmes for a broad spectrum of organisations throughout the UK & Europe.
Jock sees learning as an immersive experience that engages intellect, emotion and physicality, and draws from a mix of techniques that combine conventional development tools like Emotional Intelligence, NLP and MBTI with less obvious approaches such as focussing on breathing, vocals & posture. His delivery balances humour, intrigue and challenge, pitched to keep participants questioning & curious. He is passionate about helping people open up their potential, particularly where they can see & feel an immediate & tangible application of their learning that results in real & lasting benefits for themselves and their teams.
